Planning: Editing

Introduction:
With the editing in the thriller we are making, I plan to use the research that i have done previously to help my thriller. This is because using the research, the editing techniques i have found i can use within the thriller. Using the research i know what editing shots to use to create the conventional feeling to the audience and know that this is a conventional thriller.

1 - Fade to black, in the thriller this will be evident when we use this to show the female victim leave the house and appear again when she arrives at the house party. Using this edit will keep the audience following the female and will have a smooth transition.

2 - Flash bulb, this is evident in the thriller when it is the party scene and the female victim is drunk and there is strobe lighting that keeps flashing. Then the flash bulb effect will be used to transition to the park scene when the female victim is walking home alone. We use this edit as it is at the perfect time to use it, and because it will go alone with the lighting that is going on at the time in the thriller.

3 - Slow motion, in the park scene the slow motion edit will be shown when the alcohol bottle will drop when the female victim throws it in the air and it drops. We use this because it can shows the iconography of what she has been drinking to make her drunk, and showing it smash when she gets kidnapped shows the audience the trouble she is in.

4 - Fast editing, this is evident when the antagonist has gone crazy when torturing te female victim. The editing speed is fast because the antagonist going crazy, with images of the female victim with the boyfriend. We do this to show the audience what it is like in the antagonist's head as it allows them to see whag motivates him to do what he does, and show why the antagonist is obessed with the female victim

5 - Jump cut, using this in the park scene as it shows the audience what is happening in a distoreded way. We use this to try gain some fear for the female victim as we want them to feel scared and interested.
